Whoa! Can it really be June already? Time flies. Ghana continued...Day 3

I managed to pick the 53 photos (see why I was intimidated? SO many photos) I thought would best tell the story of our 3rd day; the day we got to visit the village we would help for the next week.
This is the "guest house" we stayed in during our time there. This was in Ho, Ghana, Africa.
Pius (Pie-us)-Globe Aware guide we worked with during our stay. Spoke English pretty well! Dreams of coming to America one day :)
First breakfast. A little different. Not gonna lie...wasn't my favorite meal...definitely wasn't the worst either.
Hanging out under the mango tree (if memory serves me correctly)

Driving to the village

They were soooo excited to see us!
Made us stop the van and march the rest of the way into their village.

They love to dance and sing
This was the first time many of these people (definitely all the children) had seen a white person. They were afraid of us. If we moved too quickly, they scattered like marbles. Ha ha!

One thing's for certain, they couldn't get enough of touching us. They loved touching our skin and watching the color fade and then come back.

Totally felt like a fish out of water! Folks, I don't dance. It's not that I don't secretly fantasize that I'll be on Dancing With The Stars one day (no comments from the peanut gallery please), it's that I look like a total goof when I do dance.

They initiated our "Chief" (Chris) into their village.

They were fascinated by our cameras and phones.

 More dancing

 Fresh coconuts! Mmmm...

Ah! My first time holding a black baby! SO flipping cute! (I think she was scared of me haha)

Practicing our Ewe (a-way) phrases and vocabulary. Miawoe zÉ”! (kinda sounds like me-a-way-zor with the r kinda being silenced)

Whoa, clear the floor! No, really. He gets a little out of control :) Just watch out for the "sprinkler."
They always wanted to hold our hands.
 Livestock
Thayne's little shadows, Mary and Nancy.

How they carried their little ones.

Always touching us...My husband calls this the "Where's Waldo picture."

Seriously, those basins filled with water are so heavy; their necks are ridiculously strong!

Looking at this picture makes my mouth water. The food was SO tasty. Honestly, SO flavorful! I want some right now. But only a little. My stomach didn't do so well with their bacteria.
