Alexis Is Pretty Much Runnin Now!!!

Its soooo much fun to see our little girls starting to walk already! Alexis of course is always the one that tries things first and then Taylor follows right behind her (usually 1 1/2 weeks) So Alexis was sittin with me by the computer and she saw Taylor across the room so instead of crawling over to see her, she pushes herself up off the ground and starts to walk. Its cute cause she has so much determination in her face when she does it! so I jumped down and had her walk over to me. Now that shes able to take more and more steps without falling, she has started to walk the short distances to get to where she wants rather than crawl :)

Little Lexi and her Walker!!!

I finally uploaded the video of the first day we got the walker. Little Alexis grabbed ahold of it and just went cruizin around the house! You can hear her getting upset when I try to turn the walker. She likes to do things on her own. Its just funny to see both the girls and how they react to things :) Taylor was a little scared of the walker but they are both used to it now. I would have to say that the favorite thing for them both is to spin the little rollers on the walker, not walk :) They like to walk, but they would rather hold onto your hand and cruze around or grab onto the table or wall and shimmy to where they want to go.

Liberty Bell and the Edwards

So, here are the pictures from July 15th, when we met up with the Edwards at Liberty Bell :) As you can see, Laurel and Farell brought the whole fam on a cross-country, crazy adventure! Their trip sounded like it was a lot of fun :) We sat down and enjoyed a Philly cheese sandwhich courtesy of Mr. Farrell :) And then they were off to their next adventure, which I think was Maryland. Krystal and I went over to the National Constitution Center and watched a play about the founding fathers. After the play, we took pics in the room where they had life-size statues of these men. It was a fun filled day :)

Long Beach 07-19-09

Here are a couple of pics from our other trip to the beach :) We decided that this time we were going to bring our Pack 'n Play for the girls so they didn't get sand in their eyes. We also came up with the cool idea of grabbing an umbrella from Wal-mart, which worked out perfectly! Alexis would not let it go! She grabbed ahold of it and held it in place to make sure it wouldn't go anywhere. The next upgraded beach idea we had was to bring a big blanket instead of a small towel. As you can see, Krystal is chillen there in the sun :) Then, Krystal started throwing some of her fries to the seagulls so I ran over to try it out. It was a blast! Just about every seagull was flying in every direction trying to grab a fry.

Lexi's thing :)

This is Alexis playing with her walker. I thought it was so funny. I was on the other side of the room and she started doing this, so I snuck up on her with the camera and caught some of it. She was concentrating sooo hard!

Update :) Sorry, still can't upload pics!

We were pleasantly surprised to hear that the Edwards were here on the east coast last week. Laurel sent Thayne a text around 1 in the morn saying they were here visiting church sites and other historical sites. We met up with them at Independence Hall on Wed, July 15. Since we didn't have tickets to tour Independence Hall with them, we headed over to see the Liberty Bell. Before we had a chance to head over there, we were stopped by ABC News Good Morning America??? (I think that's the news company they said they were with). They interviewed us about our etiquette towards those who have lost their jobs (e.g. how do we accommodate them when going to a movie, going to dinner, etc.) but we forgot to ask them when they were going to air it so we have no idea when our interview will be on t.v. or if it will even make it on there. Our response wasn't very good since we don't really know anyone who's lost their job due to the economic downturn. We toured Liberty Bell and met up with the Edwards. Farrell bought us some Philly steak and cheese sandwiches (they were soooo good) and we ate them on the lawn. They were on a pretty tight schedule so they left right after we finished eating. So good to see some family for the first time in 2 and a half months!
Sunday, July 19, we went to Long Beach again. This time we brought our pack 'n play to help keep the girls out of the sand. We also brought a large umbrella to help shade the girls. It worked really well and didn't ever fly away in the wind (probably because Alexis held onto it with her death grip)! Thayne fed the seagulls my unfinished dinner. Of course, he started off with a couple of seagulls. Within seconds he had every living seagull on the planet swarming him wanting food!!!
Alexis now has a tooth on the bottom right side. She is also getting the bottom left one. She's a super fast crawler! She loves to be chased! She is finally starting to grow some hair :) She loves to pull herself up and immediately let go, balancing there on her own; she's really good. She even tried to take her first step Sat, July 25, but fell down before her foot touched the ground. She throws temper tantrums, which makes me laugh so hard. She will stomp her foot down on the ground, then she'll fall to her butt and throw herself around until she falls over. Oh no, it doesn't stop there! She then rolls around kicking and hitting while she cries. Ha ha! Gotta love the temper tantrums!
Taylor is getting teeth on the bottom but they haven't broken the gums yet. She's relatively mellow. Tay's more of a princess, if you ask me. She is a cuddle bug, though! She doesn't throw temper tantrums :) Unfortunately, she doesn't have as long of hair as Alexis, but she will let me do her hair all cutesy (unlike Lexi)! She crawls really well now. She loves to crawl over and sit in my lap or grab onto something so she can stand up and then spread her arms out and reach for me :) I love it so much! I have been wanting this forever! I am so excited that she reaches out to me and wants to be cuddled up to me ;)
Well, I'll post some pics to go with this post when we finally get the internet. The guy who set everyone else up with their cable and internet was super rude to Thayne on the phone. Plus, he never called us back to set a time to install us, so we don't know what to do. He won't return our phone calls. He's the only one who won't charge us the installation fee of $99, so we kinda want to go with him since we'd only need it for like 2 and a half months. No sense in paying $99 for installation just to have it for a little while.

Sad!

We won't be able to post anything more until we get our own internet. The internet connection we've been using is now secured. The only one that we can access is super, super slow. I cannot upload any pictures. I can only upload text. So, until we get the internet, take care!

4th & 5th of July!

We headed off to Dorney Park for the 5th of July. I know, tsk tsk for swimming on a Sunday. Not many options, though, when you work every single day of the week except Sunday! It's like Lagoon, except bigger!!! The girls weren't too sure about the water. We took them into the tidal wave pool (only to the 6 inch mark) and sat in the water with them. Alexis wasn't too sure about it at first, but then she warmed up to it. Taylor would not warm up to it. We decided to sit at the very beginning of the pool, where the water was only a couple inches deep. She still didn't like it. My guess is it reminded her too much of the beach with the waves coming at her. Thayne took her and sat across from Alexis and I. Once Taylor couldn't see the waves coming at her and she could see Alexis splashing, she decided it was okay and splashed her little face off!Just having a little lunch! Yum yum! (Lexi left & Tay right)Lots of slides!
This is the tidal wave pool that we mentioned earlier.

Thayne headed off for work early the 4th. It was a tough day for him. He found that a lot of people weren't very friendly. Understandable since it was a holiday and everybody just wanted to relax. Back at home, I took the girls to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch to celebrate Krista's birthday! I enjoyed a small salad (that wasn't all that small) and the girls enjoyed banana slices and puffs! Later that night, we had a potluck with 3 other couples, one of which has a one and a half year old who's super cute! Thayne and Ryan lit off a flower and threw it off the 7th floor balcony. They were hoping it would float in the air, but it didn't :( Since the girls were tired, we headed back down to our apt and put them down for the night. I wanted to see some fireflies just flying out in nature so I walked out into our backyard. Thayne brought out a jar and we caught one! Here is a picture of it!

Sorry! We did not take any other pictures on the 4th. We did not do anything cool so we didn't see any reason to take any.

Roo Roo & Lexi Lex doin' their things :)

Alexis began to crawl last week! I really think she's known how to do it for awhile. She's just not as interested in it as she is in standing. Her whole goal when she crawls is to get food and find the nearest piece of furniture she can use to pull herself up into a standing position. As you'll notice, she kinda whines as she crawls because she hates it so much.Taylor is right behind her. She'll get into the crawling position and push herself backwards. She mostly rolls to get to places and loves to stand whenever she gets the chance! Tay hasn't quite figured out how to pull herself up on her own using furniture, but I'm sure she will pretty soon.

Alexis is really good at picking up those small little Gerber Graduate puffs and feeding them to herself.

Below is a video of Tay. She is working really hard on feeding herself. She always gets them UP TO her mouth, but she can't quite get them INTO her mouth. Poor girl :(

Oh! Alexis' new thing is pulling herself up, getting balanced, and then letting go and standing there completely on her own for a little while before falling down!!! I'll have to take a shorter video of Alexis doing this and post it! The only one I have is too long :(
